RNF trains Sakabusolo residents on the making of energy efficient cook stoves
Together with Cook Stove Uganda, the Rose Namayanja Foundation engaged residents of Sakabusolo sub-county in a Cook Stove Sensitization and awareness workshop.
The workshop that attracted over fifty participants, sought to train residents on the making of local cook stoves with a focus on energy conservation.
Speaking during the training held on 26th April this year, Mr. Byarugaba Africano an officer from Cook Stove Uganda urged the residents to embrace the project and change their cooking behavior. He requested the community to work together as a group to ensure that they can replicate the efforts at a faster rate.
The residents were tasked to construct their main frame kitchens before the stoves can be made for them.
They were sensitized on the health related issues of poor usage of energy and old cooking methods and how dangerous it is to inhale smoke using the local stoves.
