RNF distributes agricultural equipment to farming groups
The Rose Namayanja Foundation on Thursday distributed agricultural equipments and other items to farmer groups from Semuto Town Council and Semuto Sub County in Nakaseke District in a move aimed at uplifting the productivity and income of farmers.
The farming equipment that include spray pumps, hoes, wheel barrows, iron sheets and pesticides among others are intended to help farmers increase the quality and quantity of their produce.
Before handing over the equipments, Mr Anthony Matovu Lubega, on behalf of the Rose Namayanja Foundation Patron, Hon Rose Namayanja Nsereko, called upon the farmers to take good care of their equipments and use them wisely to acquire high yields. He urged them to exhibit skills and creativity while practicing farming, citing that cultivation is the best business one should engage in because of its sure way of generating income and uplifting families from poverty. He also advised the farming groups to develop the culture of records keeping, report writing, marketing and saving as some of the many ways that will help them grow and to easily keep track of their farming groups progress.
On behalf of the Foundation, he pledged that the Foundation would continue supporting farmers to enable them improve their standards of living in their communities and also continue to visit and monitor all the farming groups to keep track of their progress.
Among the groups that received farming equipments include; Kirema Youth Horticulture Farmers Group, Semuto Village Health Team Group, Segalye Art and Craft Women’s Group, Mugomola Small Scale Business, Tukolera wamu Farmers Association, Wabikoma Brick Laying and Farmers Group and Suubi Women’s Group.
